Performance
The Ford Mustang comes with three engines and two transmissions, which redefined its performance. It has a revolutionary blend of aesthetic handling, robust powertrains with immense power, and a dynamic design to enhance acceleration. The base model has a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that unleashes 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. The modular power cylinder engine architecture enhances performance in the lower trim levels.
Alternatively, higher trims come with a generation-4 5.0-liter Coyote engine. It generates 500 horsepower and a torque value of 418 pound-feet. This naturally aspirated engine generates 100 horsepower for every liter of gas. The standard transmission for the Ford Mustang is a 10-speed auto transmission with paddle shifters near the steering wheel.
Additionally, the six-speed manual transmission helps the driver control every action. In addition, it has an optional TREMEC manual six-speed transmission that is standard for the Mustang Dark Horse coupe. It features rev-matching and shifting the gears without lifting your foot from the gas pedal.
