The Ford Expedition is a full-size three-row SUV that does everything to the maximum level. The ambitious Ford Expedition comes standard with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 engine that delivers 380 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. This engine combines with a 10-speed automatic transmission and the option for rear- or all-wheel drivetrains. An enhanced engine with 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque is available on the Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum trims as an extra upgrade. For the ultimate performance, there's also the option for 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque on the Timberline trim and the Limited trim with the Stealth Performance package. With the heavy-duty trailer tow package included, the 4x4 Expedition can tow up to 9,200 pounds around Carbondale.
The interior cabin seats between five and eight people, depending on the trim. It comes with cloth seating and an eight-way power driver seat in select models. The maximum cargo capacity is 19.3 cubic feet with all seats up and 104.6 cubic feet with all rear seats folded flat.
The Ford SUV comes standard with active grilled shutters, LED headlights, roof-rack side rails, and a Class IV trailer hitch. Six color schemes are available on the base trim, including Oxford White, Wild Green, Agate Black Metallic, Jewel Red Metallic, Stone Blue Metallic, and Iconic Silver Metallic, but other trims may have different options.
The Expedition offers a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a SYNC® 4 user interface, Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Additional tech options include an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, four USB charging ports, and push-button start tech.
The new SUV keeps you safe from harm with the Ford Co-Pilot360™ technology, which includes pre-collision assist, automatic emergency braking, reverse brake assist, and blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert. Optional features include pro trailer backup assist, intersection assist, lane-centering assist, and intelligent adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go technology.
The Ford Expedition starts with the XL STX trim. It has seating for up to five people and all the basic features already mentioned. The XLT adds tri-zone electronic automatic temperature control, power-folding third-row seats, and a capacity for up to eight people.
The Limited trim adds many useful premium features, such as LED fog lamps and tail lights, a panoramic sunroof, lane-centering assist technology, a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, active noise cancelation, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go technology. The leather-wrapped steering wheel and 20-inch bright machined aluminum wheels with dark carbonized pockets offer premium style.
The Timberline trim adds the enhanced high-output engine, zone lighting, steel front skid plates, unique Timberline interior styling, and 18-inch ebony-painted wheels with 32-inch all-terrain tires. The King Ranch trim adds a larger 15.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 12.4-inch digital cluster, a unique King Ranch interior, a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, and 22-inch polished aluminum wheels.
The Platinum trim adds a satin and aluminum exterior, a Wollsdorf leather-wrapped steering wheel, BlueCruise tech, continuous controlled dampening, and multi-contour front seats with a massage function. MAX editions are available on the XLT, Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum trims. They have 11.9 inches of additional length, 15 cubic feet of extra cargo space, and up to 9,000 pounds of towing capacity.
